The Tessera Viz Free Edition is free to use, including for commercial purposes, under the terms below. It is not open source: its source code is not published, and you receive only the rights this licence grants.

1.1 The "Software" means the Tessera Viz Free Edition: the packages named "@tesserify/..." that we make available free of charge, with their type declarations, documentation and updates we give you.

1.2 This licence does not cover the paid packages (named "@tesserify-pro/..."). They need a paid licence from us, or an evaluation under the Tessera Viz Evaluation Licence Agreement.

1.3 "Your Application" means software, a website or a service that you build, that uses the Software, and that adds substantial features of its own.

2.1 We grant you a free, non-exclusive, worldwide, non-transferable licence, for as long as you comply with this licence, to:

a. install and use the Software to develop, test and run Your Applications, for any purpose, including commercial purposes;

b. let your employees and contractors do the same for you, if they are bound by terms at least as strict as these;

c. make Your Application available to its end users:

- as a website, web application or hosted service;

- inside your own organisation; or

- by giving or selling copies of Your Application to end users in executable or minified form, provided the Software is built into Your Application and end users cannot use it on its own;

d. make copies of the Software as reasonably needed for 2.1 a–c, including backups.

2.2 There is no limit on the number of developers, applications or end users. No licence key is needed.

You need a separate OEM licence from us to sell, license or distribute to other businesses a product that includes the Software and that others install or build on, for example:

a. on-premise or self-hosted software that you license to other organisations;

b. a software development kit, library, component, framework or developer tool;

c. a platform that lets its users build their own charts, graphs, dashboards or visualisations (for example a business-intelligence or low-code tool);

d. a white-label product that others sell under their own name.

You may not:

a. sell, rent, lease, lend, sub-license, publish or redistribute the Software on its own, or as a separately usable part of anything else, except as 2.1 c allows;

b. upload the Software, or any part of it, to a public package registry or a public code repository;

c. reverse engineer, decompile, deobfuscate or disassemble the Software, or try to obtain its source code, except where applicable law expressly allows it despite this restriction;

d. remove or change any copyright, licence or other notice in the Software;

e. remove, change, bypass or disable any licence check or technical protection, or use a paid feature without a paid or evaluation licence for it;

f. use the Software, or anything learned from it, to build a product that competes with Tessera Viz as a visualisation library or toolkit;

g. use our names, logos or trademarks, except to state truthfully that Your Application uses Tessera Viz;

h. use the Software against any law, including export-control and sanctions laws.

5.1 The Software includes some third-party components. Each is covered by its own licence, listed in the notices supplied with the Software. Those licences apply to those components.

5.2 Some optional features contact third-party services that you choose or configure. For example, the map-tiles package loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap and the Leaflet library from a public content delivery network unless you set your own sources. Your use of those services is under their terms, not ours.

6.1 The Software does not send usage data, telemetry or personal data to us.

6.2 You are responsible for the data Your Application processes, including the personal data of your end users, and for complying with the laws that apply to it.

We, and our licensors, own the Software and all intellectual property in it. You get only the rights written in section 2. Feedback you choose to give us may be used by us without any duty to you.

8.1 We have no duty to give you updates, fixes or support under this licence.

8.2 We may publish a new version of this licence. It applies to versions of the Software released with it. A version of the Software you already have stays under the licence it came with.

The Software is provided "as is", without any warranty, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, profit or business, arising from the Software or this licence. Our total liability under this licence is limited to 100 US dollars.

11.1 This licence ends automatically if you break it. When it ends, you must stop using the Software and delete every copy you control.

11.2 Copies of Your Application that you gave or sold to end users under 2.1 c before this licence ended may continue to be used by those end users.

11.3 Sections 4, 6.2, 7, 9, 10 and 12 continue after this licence ends.

This licence is governed by the laws of India. The courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction.

This is the whole licence for the Software. If you also hold a paid licence or an evaluation licence from us, that licence governs the packages it covers.
